Spine Poetry

Part of  “Electronic Literature and Its Emergent Forms”

an exhibit of electronic literature at the Library of Congress last week. One of the stations offered piles of books to stack and compose spine poetry.  These could then be photographed and uploaded to spinepoetry.com. You can also make your own spine poem at home, in a book store or library, and snap a photo of it. Here is mine:

The elevator is up!

I see light at the end of the tunnel

I can finally say that I see a faint light at the end of the long, dark dissertation tunnel. A new semester often comes with some optimism but after a working summer I feel it coming together. The installation should be up soon, revisions are done, some writing and a conclusion to finish... it all sounds doable. And can I say ... fun? I know, weird. But for anyone out there who might be reading this... if you're feeling stuck in the tunnel... there is a way out. And I know I'll get there... even if I have to crawl instead of sprinting those last few feet. :)

November travel

Well November is almost here. And I haven't posted since May. Seems November is going to be the month of travel. First, Jen Smith and I are attending the iDMAa 2010 conference on Digital Narrative in Vancouver, BC. I've actually never been to Vancouver but always heard how beautiful it is! And the next week I get to travel to Canada again for the amazing wedding of a dear friend! In addition to a hefty load of grading, a dissertation, and all the usual craziness of life it should be a busy but beautiful adventure!
